As of now, we've decided not to reveal Baby's name until he is born. The biggest reason for this is that we have yet to actually decide on a name :)
So - since we can't tell you Baby's name, I'm starting a new sidebar that will list names that we will NOT be using. I'll try to update it every so often. TO BE CLEAR, we're not saying any of these are bad names; we are just not considering them. Enjoy!

Good News, Please.
For the last couple of weeks or so, we've heard lots of bad news from people around us. It is Friday, and I want some GOOD NEWS for once! So - if you have anything good to share or say, please do so!

It's Official
I am definitely feeling like I'm in the 3rd trimester. My back is killing me. My walk has been replaced by "the waddle." My ribs start to ache if I slouch while sitting. My lower leg muscles are starting to feel crampy. I have to pee every 30 minutes. I'm starting to show enough to make strangers do the double take (they look at my face; then belly; then back to face). It's kind of annoying.

Micah's First Haircut
I've been thinking of cutting Micah's hair for a while. Then 2 strangers in the last 2 days have commented on how long/how much hair he has, so I figured it was time. After all, I don't want any strangers commenting on how cute my daughter is!! It wasn't a major cut; just a little trim on the sides and back.

Before (I accentuated the hair around the ears for effect):

Being Pregnant in Summer is Better Because. . .
1. Light weight summer maternity clothes make you look smaller than bulky winter clothes do.
2. You don't have to bend over to slip your bare feet into sandals.
3. Short sleeved maternity tops are generally cuter and cost less than winter maternity sweaters.
4. You don't have to try to zip up a winter coat over your growing belly.
5. Your expanding skin isn't all scaly and itchy from the dry winter air.
6. You are less worried about catching the flu.
7. You don't worry about losing your already-bad balance on a patch of ice outside.
Anyway, here I am in my 24 weeks of pregnant splendor.

Belated Video
We tried using the sled again on Christmas day, and after 10 minutes of fussing, Micah LOVED it! Every time we'd get to the bottom of our "hill" in the back yard, Micah would say "more more."

What's the deal?
Today I am wearing for the very first time, a pair of full-panel maternity jeans. I really resisted these during the first pregnancy for many reasons (being pregnant during the heat of summer, the fact that they're so weird looking, liking the demi-panel, etc).
Well - I bought a used pair and am SO glad that I didn't pay full price for this torture device (and they're Motherhood Maternity brand - not even a cheap brand). I have had them on for only a couple hours and don't think I'll make it through the day before taking them off. First off, it didn't help that my husband walked in to the bedroom while I was putting them on and kept making fun of how ridiculous they look. Second, they have this rope sticking out of the elastic waistband - what do I do with this? I cinched it up so the top of the panel was snug to my tummy and tied the rope thingy - is this the right way to wear them? And now I can't sit up straight or breathe. And I can forget bending over or sitting on the floor to play with Micah. They come up to my ribcage - in the back too. If I loosen the rope thing, they would slide down and fall off. Will this get better as my tummy gets bigger, or not? Seriously. How have women worn these for decades?
