Well, at least he's already on antibiotics
Yesterday was a hectic morning at our house. Kedron left at 6:30am for a conference; I was trying to pack to go to my mom's for the weekend; we had a playdate that morning; I was talking on the phone to my sister who has the day off. We were supposed to be at our playdate in 20 minutes, and I still wasn't dressed. Micah was playing nicely with his trains in the living room, so I scooped up Eli and brought him into our bedroom while I got ready. Eli immediately got into the toiletry bag I'd packed for the boys and started chewing on Micah's toothbrush. I remembered I needed to sterilize his pacifier anyway, so I left him in the bedroom while I went in the kitchen to heat some water in the microwave.
After diligently placing the toothbrush and paci in the boiling water (how good of a parent am I for preventing the spread of germs??), I walk back into the bedroom (still chatting on the phone; I can multitask, right?) and don't see Eli anywhere! He's not behind the bed, not in the closet. . . . oh no. I look over and see that our bathroom door has been pushed shut. Oh No. I got up early this morning, used the bathroom, and didn't flush because I didn't want the sound to wake up light-sleeper Micah. OH NO. Let's just say there were a couple different "numbers" in the toilet if you know what I mean, and I don't think I even closed the lid. OH NO!!! I tear into the bathroom and find my youngest son gleefully pulling out wads of toilet paper from the toilet and throwing them on the floor.
Go ahead, feel free to laugh. My sister sure got a kick out of all this on the other end of the phone :)

Rachel's LOST Predictions
The reason for the island: After watching last week's episode, I think it's pretty obvious. The island/Jacob's main job is to contain the smoke monster. The monster was somehow trapped there long ago, and something about the special properties of the island keep him there, so he can't wreak havoc on the rest of the world. So through the years, Smokey has taken on many forms (man in black, currently Locke) in an elaborate attempt to find a way off the island to bring destruction to the rest of the world. Jacob's main purpose is to keep him contained, and to keep the island "in order" so that it can continue to contain the smoke monster.
Widmore: I'm not sure how Widmore fits in to things yet. I've always thought he was really bad, so I don't know if he wants to destroy the monster, or use it for his own personal gain.
The Flash Sideways: The main point of these seems to be to determine how capable the characters are of change. Look at how differently Ben and Locke are - they are much different people in their flashes than they were before. Sayid and Sawyer - not so much. Sawyer in particular seems to have exactly the same motives but is going about it differently. Also the flashes highlight the fact that, island or not, these characters are destined to be deeply connected, for some reason yet to be revealed.
Hurley: I'm going out on a limb here, but he has always in my opinion been central to the show. I predict that when it's time for his flash sideways episode, we're going to see either Jacob or something island-related pop up. I think Hurley is the key to figuring out how the flashes fit with the island timeline.
All right, I know at least a few of you are LOST fans so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. This show has clearly made me embrace my inner sci-fi geek :)

I'm 11 months old!

Only one more month and I will be a toddler!??! Mommy can’t believe how fast the last 11 months have gone. I got a 2nd tooth this month. I continue to drool a lot. I am really getting in to my toys now. I love to play with books! I can walk around the room if you hold on to my fingers. I can also walk along furniture by myself really well. I love to open drawers and pull out what is inside. I started clapping and can raise up my arms to show that I am SO BIG! I love to say da-da-da and sometimes babble na-na-na, but no Mama yet.
Another wonderful habit I’ve developed this month: I can vomit at will. Whenever Mommy tries to feed me a food I don’t like, I just make myself throw up! I particularly don’t like the taste/texture of bananas or cottage cheese. I still like foods to be pureed very smooth, so watch out if you try to feed me anything!

Well, 1 out of 4 isn't that bad. . .
Micah: Lauren, Gordon, Diego, Yvonne!
(For those who don't know, Gordon is one of the Thomas trains, Diego is a cartoon character, and Yvonne is Uncle Karlton's girlfriend!)

Tantrums Are Stupid.
Two nights ago, Micah threw a 10+ minute tantrum in his bed after we put him to sleep, because he wasn't sure if both of his blankets were on him or not. They were.
What's the dumbest tantrum your kid has ever thrown?
