As my peep Emily reported on her blog, New Kids on the Block are getting back together!! Next to the birth of my son, this is by far the best thing to happen in the past year :)
Click here to visit their website where you can watch some of their old videos. Ladies, who's with me and my NKOTB love? Who was your fave New Kid?

I'm 5 months old!

Hello everyone! I celebrated turning 5 months by getting a cold! I have a stuffy nose and a cough. Yuck. Still, I have made a lot of progress this month. I can roll over both ways. I am much better at rolling from my back to my tummy but can sometimes roll back. I love sitting in my high chair, but am not too crazy about that rice cereal yet. I am drooling a lot. A LOT a lot. Everyone has their guess as to when I'll finally get a tooth, but they'll have to wait and see! I also have some cradle cap spots on my head which Mommy doesn't like. Oh well; I'm still cute! I love watching that Loco. He keeps me very entertained. I am sleeping "OK" at night but I don't like naps any more. Mommy and Daddy try to put me down and I just wake right up! Don't they know that I like to be held when I nap? I entertain myself in the crib by pulling my socks off.
I traveled a little this month. I went to Grandma and Grandpa G's for a few days with Mommy while Daddy was at a conference. I also took a trip to Iowa City this month to meet some of Mommy and Daddy's friends. I am pretty good at traveling but I don't sleep well at night when I'm not in my crib!

A Special Day

Today is my Grandpa Rich's birthday. He sure is old compared to me, but he looks great and I love playing with him! He said something about taking me to Wyoming this summer to help him build a cabin. I don't know what Wyoming is, but I'm sure I would love it! I tried to take a picture for him to wish him a Happy Birthday, but I kept getting distracted by the sign that Mommy made.

Tastes Like Chicken
Here's video footage of Micah's first attempt at rice cereal. Ked and I were a bit more excited than Micah was. . .

Little Boy, Big Chair
Micah has made the upgrade from baby swing to high chair. We put the chair up the other day and he just loves it! We have yet to start him on solids (rice cereal) but plan to soon. I also got out his baby spoon and he loved chomping on it while I held it (but he still managed to gag himself a few times). What a big boy he's becoming!

"It sounds like he's passing a Rubik's Cube"
This was Kedron's comment about our little angel tonight at dinner. Apparently Micah didn't like the HuHot I ate yesterday. He has been loudly groaning, grunting, and writhing with gas pains all day today. Sorry, Micah; lesson learned!

Rocking and Rolling
So . . . the downside of Micah's latest milestone (rolling over) made last night interesting (Did I say interesting? I meant interrupted). He can roll onto his tummy, but not onto his back. Three times last night, we had to "rescue" him when he rolled to his tummy in his crib and got stuck. So today we're working on rolling to his back.

Roly Poly
Micah rolled over last night for the first official time (the time mentioned in our Xmas letter was kind of an accident, on a cushy surface). We thought last night's rollover was probably a fluke as well, since we had to coach him along.
Well. . . today I was changing Micah on his changing table when I got one of those sudden urges to use the bathroom (let's be honest; we all have them). So I quickly secured the diaper, not taking the time to even re-button his onesie, and set him on the floor ON HIS BACK so I could run to the bathroom. When I came back a minute later, here's what I found!

Surprisingly, he can't roll from his tummy to his back yet. Just from back to tummy. His center of gravity is right on the front of his belly, I think!

Let's make history.
All right Iowans, now is our time! I can't remember a time in my life when so much national attention has been focused on our state. The candidates are campaigning harder than ever (and spending a LOT of money in the process). Have there ever been more media in our little state, covering our every move? With our caucus votes, we will be setting the pace for one of the most important presidential races in our lifetime. Just think, how often do we get to be a part of such a huge decision?
So. . . let's enjoy our little place in history for one more day and show the rest of the nation how it's done :)

UPDATE: Someone STOLE these signs from our yard the day after the caucus! How rude!

Micah's first Christmas
Here are some random pictures from Micah's trips to his grandparents' homes. First we went to see the Bardwells. Here is Micah with his cousins!

Jessie, Natalie, and Kaleb helped give Micah a bath. Here they are getting him ready!

Micah and Nana!

Micah opened his toy; then got scared. . .
