I'm 8 months old!

It’s been a busy month for me. First of all, I got my first tooth! It’s just popping through the skin so Mommy hasn’t gotten any good pictures of it yet. My parents sure thought teething made me crabby, until I saw the doctor and found out I have double ear infections. Ouch! I’ve had a rough few weeks of stuffy noses and not sleeping well at night, but I’m on the mend now.

I can’t quite crawl yet but I have a whole repertoire of scooting positions. I can do the worm (pulling myself forward by my arms) and the crab crawl (on my hands and tiptoes with my bottom up in the air). I like to stand up (with help) and hold on to the stair railings. I am also realizing that I can start to chase Loco now! I continue to babble a lot. I love to hear myself scream and grunt LOUD! It’s especially fun to scream in quiet places like church or the library. Mommy loves that!

I have all kinds of fun toys that I continue to master. Mommy says that every day she notices something new I can do (pull a lever on a toy, drop a ball through the hoop, etc.). I also like story books. I can turn the pages, but sometimes I like to read the book backwards. I love to laugh! I like to play peek-a-boo games with Daddy. Mommy always tickles me and I love it! Here's a video of me doing my "worm" scoot. Enjoy! Love, Micah

All he needs now is a shiny shirt

Micah loves to play his baby bongos (ie: old formula can). Well, Mommy likes to make him try, anyway! You be the judge on whether or not he likes it. Yep, we play pretty hard in our house. Good thing we had a boy!

What's your favorite modern baby convenience?

What's that baby item that our moms didn't get to use with us, that you couldn't live without? I've thought a lot about this lately. I'm sure my cloth diapering friends will cringe at this, but I have to say disposable diapers are the best. I really admire people who use cloth diapers but I just couldn't do it myself. I would be a really stressed out, grossed out mommy if I had to wash Micah's diapers. I got poop underneath my fingernails today and seriously almost vomited. I had to wash my hands 3 times afterwards!

So. . . what's your favorite baby convenience item?

Happy Birthday Nana!

I want to wish my awesome Nana a Happy Birthday today! She came to visit me a few weeks ago and I got to play with her for two whole days! It was the best time. Hopefully she can come visit me again very soon. I miss her and Papa!

Love, Micah

Look at me...I'm (almost) crawling!

Micah is making big strides toward crawling, and here is "proof" from today. By the time we got the camera out (and he finished staring at the camera -- he LOVES electronics), he was a bit tired out. But his daddy and mommy are very, very proud of him!

We need to finish child-proofing the rest of the house! :)

Is it summertime yet??

This is what stay at home moms do to entertain themselves during those long days indoors.

Fun in the back yard

It was a little windy today, but we still sat outside for a while. Micah really loves the outdoors, although it was a little bright for his eyes even on a cloudy day.

Out of the mouths of babes. . .

This story is for my friend Jill. She was complaining yesterday that she took Harry to Target, and was disappointed that no one commented on how cute he looked. Well, today Micah and I went to Target. While we were there, we passed by a Grandma with her preschool-aged grandson. As we went by, the grandson looked at Micah and announced, "That's a weird baby." And he actually said it twice!!

Attention NKOTB fans!!

The band is reuniting TOMORROW (Friday) on the Today Show! I am going to set my TiVO right now!

Should we start taking bets on how bad they are going to sound?
