We all live in a yellow sub, er, house

We're moving! To a VERY yellow house. We actually refer to it as Yellow House. It is more "in town" than we are now (translation: we can walk to the library, town square, Simpson) and Kedron is very excited to walk to work every day. We'll be gaining 1 more bedroom, hardwood floors, a shaded back yard, and a porch swing! We're very excited!

A Day Out with Thomas

The Mullers got Micah tickets to see Thomas for his birthday. We enjoyed a wonderful day, despite the (constant, heavy) rain. Here he is, straight from the Island of Sodor!

Silly cousins (in their Thomas shirts) on the train. Micah was scared to get on, for fear it would be too loud, but less than 5 minutes into the train ride, he exclaimed, "This is FUN!"

Sweet little boy.

Like I said, it rained constantly, but that didn't stop us. Fun was had by all!

Ahh, the difference with the 2nd child

My reaction 2 years ago when my parents took Micah overnight for the first time: TEARS

My reaction today when my parents took both boys overnight for the first time: ACTUALLY HARD TO TYPE THIS BECAUSE I'M SO BUSY JUMPING UP AND DOWN WITH DELIGHT

Now, enough blogging - we're going on a date tonight!!!

A Naptime Equation

Micah's nap in minutes + Eli's nap in minutes / number of poopy diapers changed during said "nap" = 25

Do the math.

OK. . .

If Micah eats all his meal, he gets to have a treat. A common treat is a "special cookie," which is just a fig newton that we gave a fancy name. Today at lunch, Micah says, "I don't want a special cookie treat. I want SOMETHING, like parmesan cheese."

Micah Loves 80's Music Part 3

Here is an actual conversation between Micah and daddy tonight, transcribed for your enjoyment! Love the mind of a 3 year old...

Listening to an 80s CD
[Song: Billy Ocean - Caribbean Queen]

Micah: "This is a naughty song!"
Daddy: "Why?"
Micah: "Because of what he's doing..."
Daddy: "And what is he doing?"
Micah: "He's singing bad."
Daddy: [laughs] "Why do you say that?"
Micah: "Because it's sad. It's sad and bad. It's a bad song."

[5 seconds later]

Micah: "I want Karma Chameleon..."
Daddy: "Why do you want that?"
Micah: "Because its happy!!"

(posted by Kedron even though it says Rachel)

Micah's BFF

Today at lunch:

Ked/Rach: Micah, who is your best friend?
Micah: Trains!
Us: No, which person is your best friend?
Micah: Mommy!
Me: That's nice of you to say. But which kid is you best friend?
Ked: Is it maybe Harry, or Bryson, or Caden, or Lauren?
Micah: Eli!

Sorry friends and cousins, but that made my heart smile :)

My sad son

We took an impromptu trip to visit Melanie, Lauren, and Meredith this morning. As we were pulling back into our driveway after the excursion. . .

Micah: "We home yet? We home yet?"
Me: "Yes, we are."
Micah: "It's sad when we come home."
Me: "Why are you sad?"
Micah: "I want to go back to Lauren's house."

Later in the day, as I was telling Ked about the above exchange. . .

Micah: "We go back to Lauren's house so I can be happy?"
