Literal Child.

Micah was trying on his new winter hat which has a mohawk made out of fringe on top.

Me:  Doesn't some other boy in your class have a mohawk hat like this?
Micah:  No, but (classmate name) has a real mohawk!
Me:  That's right, he does.  It looks really good on him too.  He can pull it off.
Micah, giggling:  No, he can't!  It's his hair!

Well, I tried.

Eli, repeating something he'd heard recently:  "Why am I glad to see you!  Why am I glad to see you!"
Me:  "Actually, it's 'Boy,' not 'Why'."
Eli:  "Boy, why am I glad to see you!"

Bad Blogger

Hello.  I'm Rachel.  I used to take time to blog.  Allow me to update you on our wonderful Christmas!

We celebrated first with the Govigs.  Rather than post all the pics, click here to visit Melanie's blog where she took some great pics of the kids sledding!  But here we are at my parents' house, with a truly lovely family portrait. . .

Now on to Christmas morning!  We do not go hog wild with gifts, but from the boys' perspective they got so many to open.  We struggle sometimes with being grateful in this family, so it was nice to see the boys so excited and appreciative of their gifts.

As always, Micah was awake bright and early, and took time to get dressed for the day before seeing whether Santa came or not.  I love this kid.

Eli loves his Sky Racers Carrier!  Mommy loves Imaginext toys because they're so easy to get out of the box!

Santa found a great gift for Micah - a gear and chain toy where you can put them in different formations and then spin them!  A quintessential "Micah" toy.

Then we packed up and headed to Colorado to visit the Bardwells.   The highlight of the trip (for me) was a visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens.  All the trees and shrubbery were wrapped with Christmas lights!  I've never seen so many lights in my life.  It was hard to capture it with a camera - but here we are!

The boys LOVE their Nana B!

Nana found a really cool park for the boys to enjoy.  We can't wait to come back here when it's warm outside!
