Happy Birthday Eli!

Our baby is FOUR, and we celebrated for what seemed like a week!  Eli had some school friends over on Monday (his actual birthday) and then he had to wait until Saturday for his official

party.  We were fortunate to host all Eli's Govig cousins at his party.  Top row:  Meredith (3 1/2), Kale (1 1/2), Lauren (7), Bottom row:  Eli, Kyler (almost 5), and Micah (5 1/2).

Eli wanted a Pirate party - so the big event was making a pirate hook and then using it to collect a pirate bandanna, eye patch, and necklaces from our back yard.  Here are Kale and Kyler modeling their costumes:

After the party, I asked Eli what his favorite thing he got at the party was. . . he answered:  CAKE!  Sorry to all who spent money on actual gifts.  Just bring him a cupcake next year and you'll make his day :)

Spirit Week

The boys had fun dressing up for Spirit Week at preschool!

Monday:  Pajama Day (I didn't get a pic of this)

Tuesday:  Crazy Hair Day (or 'a normal day' for Eli)

Wednesday:  Stripes or Polka Dots Day  (E only goes to preschool on Tues & Thurs).

Thursday:  "Pi Day" (as in 3.14), so everyone came dressed as nerds.  This was by far my favorite day (although it required the most work).

 Friday: Class Color Day!  Micah's class color was orange.

 I think Micah was relieved this morning when he could wear whatever he wanted.  He stayed in his jammies all morning :)

I'll bet little girls don't say this kind of stuff.

Last night we were reading from the children's Bible with the boys.  We read the story about the Israelites and how God provided manna that fell from the sky for them to eat.  We talked about how it was kind of like "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and how it would be cool to walk out into our yard and see little bits of bread in the grass that we could eat.  We also talked about how God provided the bread because he loved the Israelites and wanted to take care of them.

Micah's response:  "I bet for the bad people he made it rain down POOP on them!"

Wow.

Eli:  "Mom, I like the middle part of your eyeballs."

I'm going to interpret that as, "You have pretty eyes, Mom," so, thank you, son.
