Only My Child

As Micah made a card for his best friend today, I look over to see him writing a bunch of numbers in it.  Sure enough, he's writing out addition equations in the card.

"I'm giving her some math," he tells me. . .

Not Quite Right. . .

Micah, trying to tell me about a Backyardigans episode he just watched:  "Pablo had to hold on to the flipper so he didn't get hit by the Meat Eater."

Me:  "OK. . ."

Micah: "Do you know what a Meat Eater is?"

Me:  "Yes, something that eats meat."

Micah: "No, it's a big rock that falls from space!"

A Boy and His Shoes

After the velcro on his shoes stopped. . .umm. . velcro-ing, I broke the news to Micah that it was time to throw his old shoes away and start wearing his brand new shoes.  

But first, he needed a moment to part ways with his comfy, old friends.
